This post his post coming to you straiget from my iPhone as I patiently wait for my daughter to finish cheer practice.
- Finished book #1 for Erin’s challenge (Mothers, Tell Your Daughters by Bonnie Jo Campbell), another book of short stories and a book for work. Started A Prayer for Owen Meany and reserved two more. Full books recap this Tuesday for Show Us Your Books.
- Watched the return of American Crime. Contemplating researching Making a Murderer. Still need to finish Narcos and Master of None.
- Made several delicious dishes. Most specifically, this one for sweet and sticky chicken. It’s grain free and mostly Paleo but those who are skeptical, don’t be. The husband has asked me to make 90 pounds of it. It’s that good.
- Read almost nothing on the Internet that isn’t the Making a Murderer rabbit hole. I have never seen a miscarriage of justice quite like this case. Even if you think they’re guilty, you cannot say that the questioning of Brandon was at all ethical and the police didn’t mishandle the evidence and that the trial wasn’t ridiculous and that there’s a bit of lying and covering up going on somewhere.
- Got way too excited that Mike Piazza chose to go into the Hall of Fame as a Met. This doesn’t quite forgive Daniel Murphy for signing with the Nationals, but I’ll take it.
- Witnessed some neighborhood drama. Since we’re third parties I won’t discuss details but I have a feeling it’s going to get very ugly. I don’t like that.
- Won at adulting by doing 7 loads of laundry, start to finish, all in the same day.
- Became overwhelmed with choices regarding what bookish gear to buy with some of my Christmas money. There’s so much of it, you guys. HOW DO I CHOOSE?!
- Laughed at these:
That’s all for the week. Relaxing, no stress weekend ahead. Hope it’s the same for you!

That chicken dish looks delicious!
Happy Friday and I hope you have a good weekend. I’m petsitting this weekend and it’s really light, which I’m kind of glad for. I’m tired and just want to sleep the days away.

I’m hoping that I have the same adulting win this weekend when I do all the laundry I’ve been putting off for the past few weeks. I’ve heard such good things about Narcos, so maybe I’ll start that up this weekend. My husband watched it without me, boo!

Can’t watch American Crime. Rape is worse than murder. I will check out that chicken recipe. I wish turkey breasts were more reasonable price-wise. I love turkey and they yield a good bit of meat and easy to make. Love the e-cards. Watching Lola Jean for the first full day. It’s priceless! Lucky me. Enjoy your weekend. Lights and Angels to that neighbor situation. Love. Steph’s momma

I love the last photo! That’s pretty much me! Everyone is watching the Murder show. I started to watch but it didn’t grab me. And I love documentaries! I’m impressed you typed all that with a phone. If I did it would take 7 hours and still be unreadable. Nice job!

Also trying to narrow down between two bookish things I want to purchase with Christmas money. And I have to replace my g.d. book queen shirt because it’s full of bleach spots. RAGE.
Tell me the neighborhood drama.
I don’t care what was left out of the show, there is a lot of hinky shit going on with MaM and everyone should be able to recognize that. It is not always about guilt and innocence – it is about getting a fair trial and not being mishandled every step of the way.

Whoa, that chicken looks really good. I try to cook more on weekends in this weather (in the summer, forget it) so I’ll add this to the list. Be honest: is it simple? Cause if it’s not I’ll manage to screw it up.
I’m wondering when the day will come that I won’t care and obsess about Making a Murderer. FYI I watched a doc on Netflix called ‘Crazy Love.’ Whoa. If you have an interest in a VERY bizarre love story, I recommend.

I remember the first time I set off the fire alarm (yes, it has happened more than once). Burnt toast both times. 🙂 I’m so darn short that I had to run for a chair and still couldn’t really reach the alarm. So I busted it and then had to go sheepishly explain to my landlord what happened so they would replace it. Sigh. Everyone is talking about Making a Murderer but I haven’t seen it. It sounds both fascinating and sad. Have a great weekend!

I just wanted to say I read A Prayer For Owen Meany and liked it. It’s definitely worth finishing.
In an unrelated note… if you ever want to read a narrated non-fiction about the pillaging of Africa by Europeans, I recommend King Leopold’s Ghost. Sounds like a depressing topic but it’s a fascinating read that is definitely not popular in Belgium.
When it comes to laundry, I actually enjoy the process of washing. I just hate the process of putting it away! If you’re good at putting clothes away, your leaps and bounds ahead of me.

90 pounds of it? definitely want to try that recipe.

I am going to have to check out Making a Murderer. We just did an appraisal in that county this week and the administrator of the building we appraised went to high school with that dude. How crazy? Neighborhood drama is always entertaining, ours is constantly full of it. I hope you share your bookish purchases here so we can see! Have a great weekend!

Making a Murderer sounds reallllly interesting but, you know, I’m terrible about tv watching. So, I’m not even going to pretend that I’m going to find a way to watch it. It will probably be aired in Australia in a year or two. I’ll catch it then.
You know, I got amazon money for Christmas. You know I’ve spent some of it already (DB books). I’ve got a “wishlist” going to choose the rest of my gifts. Yep. There’s cat socks and “I like big mutts and I cannot lie” tee and “book gear” (as you call it) on that list.

I am AMAZED that you did 7 loads of laundry in one day. Three is my limit and by the end of the third one they don’t usually get put away after being folded. Gold star my friend.

Hope the neighborhood drama doesn’t spill over into drama for everyone.
