I’m the first to admit that I have numerous quirks and pet peeves. I don’t fight them or try to change them; rather, I accept them as part of who I am. After all, they’re what make me special.
Or weird.
Or insane.
Maybe all of the above.
Have a look at these and then you decide:
- All my hangers face the same direction. As does everything hanging on the hangers.
- I eat cookies in even numbers.
- I separate Skittles and M&Ms by color and eat them in those color groups.
- Socks have to match, and if I find an orphan, I’ll put it in a different spot in my drawer until its mate shows up. It cannot mingle with the pairs. But apparently they can save house elves.
- Books go on the shelf in size order.
- In the pantry, can labels MUST face forward as do the nutrition label for boxes. I know, it’s some Sleeping With the Enemy shit right there.
- If there’s a notification on my iPhone, I have to deal with it as soon as I notice. The screen needs to be free from angry red numbers.
- When making the bed, the blanket length needs to be even all the way around and I will fight and wrestle with the said blanket until it is.
How about you guys? Do you do anything like this?
P.S. There’s no picture for #1 and that’s because my internet kept crapping out while I was looking for one and I lost what little patience I have left today. Monday, you can go fuck yourself.
#7. is. me.
THAT gives me major anxiety. I also do the hanger thing, but I thought everyone did?!??! If your hangers are facing in different directions, you are a MONSTER.

I have seen closets where they don’t face the same direction and I want to fix it immediately.
I am basically with you on all of these things!!! My hangers all have to face one way, my pantry is organized, I can’t stand notifications on my phone….I mean I am not an animal! Haha 🙂

I’m glad we have the same level of civilized behavior 🙂
hahahaha yes to books in size order!! even if it’s like a milimetre taller, it bugs me and they need to be swapped! i cannot stand notifications on my phone, except when they are on the settings icon because i hate updating the bloody thing lol. i reckon they put that update thingy there because they know people will update their ios system thingy to get rid of the number.

OMG, YES! You’re right! I bet Apple does it on purpose. Sneaky bastards.
#’s 1, 2, 3 and especially 6. All me.
Sleeping with the Enemy – oh man oh man – I love that movie, but yeah – all the labels and nutrition labels need to be visible.
Another thing I do, that is totally weird, and very OCD. Is everything happens in an order. So, if I come in my office at work, and the light is already on – I turn it off – just to turn it back on. Yup, I am that level of insane.

If they’re not visible, how do you know what you’re getting? I don’t have time for a guessing game. I want to get in and get out and get to cooking.
What kind of monsters don’t have their hangers the same way? That seems like more work to me. Haha! I’m the same way with my blanket and with notifications on my phone. I even listen to stupid voicemails immediately just to get the number to go away.

Hahaha! I do that with voicemail, too.
I do a bunch of weird shit especially when it comes to ordering things.
I also count stairs when I’m going up or down. I go up and down a lot every day in the train station.

Umm, everything except for #6. When I read #1, I thought to myself, “How could someone NOT have all their clothes and hangers facing the same way?!” Heathens.

They ARE heathens. My husband does it sometimes and I twitch when I see his side of the closet.
All the bottles on my bathroom counter top must be in order from biggest to smallest.
I like the can labels facing out too but Tyson and Kayden don’t care.
Kelli recently posted…Currently – 3/25/2015
Scott doesn’t care about it either. I also have to arrange the cans and boxes by type. Black beans with black beans, diced tomatoes with diced tomatoes, etc.
1. Same. There’s no other way to live. 2. Same, except Oreos, inexplicably, which I eat five of. I don’t know why. 3. ME TOO everyone thinks I’m crazy! 4. Same; I always separate the loner so I can find it when its made shows itself. 5. I have the weirdest book organization system that I cannot put into words but it just makes sense to me. It’s bizarre. 6. Your gif speaks truth, nothing weird about that at all. 7. I CANNOT STAND THE LITTLE RED CIRCLES! 8. Yup. So basically we’re twins, I guess. Rock on.
I’ve always wanted a twin!
LOL on that last GIF! The only one that I share is the phone notifications thing. When I had an iPhone, I turned off all those annoying red notification bubbles. When I have notifications on my Android, I have to clear them ASAP. (They appear in upper left corner) The number of notifications on my husband’s phone drives me insane.

Your hangers can face different directions?? How do you live?!
Number 7 is a big thing for me. I can’t see those little red circles on my phone because it will drive me crazy. Even if there’s a voicemail that I know who it is, I still have to check it so the notification goes away. It’s my one thing that I can’t stand!

They’re so annoying and I hate when you clear the things and it stays for a few extra minutes and then you have to go back in. Why must they taunt me??
My books totally have to go on the shelf by size.
I totally separate my skittles by color, it heightens the flavor. Yup, that’s what I said and I am sticking to it.
It does heighten the flavor! Which one do you eat last? Purple for me.
I do most of these books, skittles, socks! You’re not that strange I promise!

All of you guys are making me feel so much better and less bizarre.
I totally separate my Skittles into different colors. Then, I eat them in a specific color pattern. But…the greens and yellows can be eaten together because I like their taste. My other weird must do – my bra and underwear gotta match.
Erin recently posted…Aussie Author Challenge – Book 3
I eat them in a specific pattern, too. Purple is always last. Yellow first.
Haha we all have weird habits. That’s what makes us human! I actually do a lot of these. Something I never do is clean out my email inbox. Yep I’m totally the girl with the 2,146 emails on my iPhone app! Haha
Jill recently posted…Weekend Contemplations: On Being Human
I get to that point, too, and then I just mark them all as read because I can’t take it.
toilet paper has to be over. it doesn’t matter where i am – public restroom, friend’s house etc…i will fix the toilet paper so that it comes over the top LOL.

I *might* do that, too.
I do the sock thing. I have a special box where socks go to be reunited with their mates. A couple times a year, I go through it and throw away mateless socks. It’s a strangely hard thing to force myself to do. I just keep holding out hope that they’ll turn up somewhere!
A box for mateless socks makes so much sense! Easier than digging through a drawer!
Ha, nope, I don’t do anything like this, but I can be a bit of a slob. I do love my candy and cookies though. I just eat them by the handful.
Amber recently posted…Hey, It’s Okay Tuesday!
If I grab a handful of different colored candy, I will sort the handful by color and eat it that way. I can’t have candy chaos.
I don’t do any of these things. In fact, I put off phone/iPad updates until it won’t let me download new apps until the old stuff is updated. Same with text messages..I’m SO bad at answering texts that I’ll have a little number above that icon for days at a time.

Oddly, I am envious of that self-control.
It’s more of a “I’m not going to deal with the reality of the situation until I absolutely have to”. Procrastination at its finest.
Kristin recently posted…Does a cleaning schedule work?
can’t say i share any of these, but i know plenty who do. i’m not messy or anything. i used to be this way about a lot of things but when i realized (this is just me here, my personal reasons, not saying this is why people do this) that i was relying on the order of objects to give me happiness, and that i would be stressed until everything was perfect, i had to stop it. it creeps up now and again when i’m stressed, and i indulge a little then, but that’s it.
