I try not to buy books. I don’t like to buy something I’ll read once and most likely never even look at again (in fact, this is one of my main reasons why I haven’t purchased an e-reader). I’m all for sharing books but no one I know seems to have my taste in books. So I can’t justify spending the money. Usually.
Sometimes, however, I’ll come across a book like this:
And this:
And most importantly, this:
I spent $27 on these books yesterday. It might have been unnecessary but worth every penny.
Have you bought something recently that seemed frivolous but was completely worth it?

I've bought something recently that absolutely was frivolous (and a little strange too) but I like it! So I guess in that sense it's worth it. It's a little stuffed owl. Don't ask me why, but it completely cracked me up and I wanted it 🙂

I have Erin Chase's breakfast cookbook as well–really enjoying it. Her website is great as well!
Our 'frivolous' but can't-do-without spending is on books (we LOVE to read), and movie theater tickets. Fortunately we usually have coupons for each. Confession: even if we didn't, we would still purchase these two items:).

Erin's books are great (and she's a wonderful person!). I have things I splurge on now and then (like my Kindle a couple of months ago).

Don't forget about Paperback Swap. You can swap books with others that are finished reading. You just pay for shipping and don't accumulated a bunch of books!

I went to the Ren Faire this weekend, so pretty much everything from the tickets to the food to the costuming and tips for the performances is probably frivolous- but I love every second of the experience and find lots of excuses to wear my costumes.
