Bloggers Helping Bloggers

The Bloggers Helping Bloggers Online Mentoring Program was founded in September 2012. It intends to draw together bloggers from different niches to provide one on one coaching, as well as create a collaborative community of veteran and new bloggers. By working with experienced bloggers, rookie bloggers can improve their content and blog design, expand their network, gain exposure for their sites, and develop specialized skills. Veteran bloggers get the chance to share their expertise, meet up and coming bloggers, and assist those bloggers in achieving their goals.

The program runs for 8-10 weeks and is completely voluntary. Mentors and mentees fill out a questionnaire and are matched as best as possible based on those answers. While there is a minimum requirement, overall frequency of interaction is decided by each pair , as is the nature of the coaching (ex., developing a podcast, writing an eBook, securing guest posts, etc). Participants are encouraged to engage in additional conversations on the Bloggers Helping Bloggers Facebook page, although this is not a requirement. If you want to discuss the program on Twitter, please use #blogmentoring.

Speaking of requirements, there are a few:

  • Blogs must be current. If a site has not been updated in more than 2 months, it will not be considered for entry into the program.
  • Participants agree to communicate with their mentor/mentee at a minimum of once per week. If the minimum requirement is not met, participants may be asked to leave the program.
  • Participants must add the program blog button to their sites for the duration of their involvement in the program. It may be taken down upon completion of the program (exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis)
  • While promotion of the program is encouraged and anyone may blog about it at any time, all participants will be asked to write a summary post of their experience on a date to be determined (usually the Friday following the end of the program). Again, exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis.
That’s it. That’s all that is required for participation in the program. Pretty easy, right?
